Birmingham

I first got to know Birmingham  a little when I was at Shrewsbury School (1958-61). I went on a school trip to at least one concert there, and at least once, when I was visiting David Ratcliff’s home in Sutton Coldfield, we were driven into the centre of the city.

But it was during my three year degree course at Birmingham College of Commerce (1964-67. This college became part of the City of Birmingham Polytechnic in 1971, the University of Central England in 1992 and Birmingham City University in 2007).

Birmingham, West Midlands
